Sukta 8.96
त्वं ह त्यद्वृषभ चर्षणीनां घनो वृत्राणां तविषो बभूथ । त्वं सिन्धूँरसृजस्तस्तभानान्त्वमपो अजयो दासपत्नीः ॥
tváṃ ha tyád vṛṣabha carṣaṇīnā́ṃ ghanó vṛtrā́ṇāṃ taviṣó babhūtha | tváṃ síndhūṃr asṛjas tastabhā́nān tvám apó ajayo dāsápatnīḥ ||
हे वृषभा! तूच जनांचा (अधिपती) होऊन अडथळे घालणाऱ्या वृत्रांचा घन—संहारक—असा प्रचंड पराक्रमी झाला आहेस. तू अडवून धरलेल्या नद्यांना मुक्त केलेस; आणि दासाच्या अधीन केलेल्या (दासपत्नी) अपः—जलशक्तींना—तू जिंकलेस.
