Sukta 8.96
द्रप्समपश्यं विषुणे चरन्तमुपह्वरे नद्यो अंशुमत्याः । नभो न कृष्णमवतस्थिवांसमिष्यामि वो वृषणो युध्यताजौ ॥
drapsám apaśyaṃ víṣuṇe cárantam upahvaré nadyò aṃśumátyāḥ | nábho na kṛṣṇám avatasthivā́ṃsam iṣyā́mi vo vṛṣaṇo yúdhyatājau ||
मी त्या थेंबाला पाहिले—तो आपल्या-आपल्या मार्गांनी वेगळा वेगळा फिरत, त्या उपह्वर (वळणदार गर्त) ठिकाणी होता, जिथे अंशुमती (किरण-भरलेल्या) नद्या वाहतात. तो तिथे कृष्ण मेघपिंडासारखा स्थिर उभा होता; हे वृषणो (पराक्रमी) जनहो, रणात युद्ध करण्यासाठी मी तुम्हाला उद्युक्त करतो.
