आ वृषस्व पुरूवसो सुतस्येन्द्रान्धसः । विद्मा हि त्वा हरिवः पृत्सु सासहिमधृष्टं चिद्दधृष्वणिम् ॥

ā́ vṛṣasva purūvaso sutásyéndrā́ndhasaḥ | vidmā́ hí tvā hari-vaḥ pṛtsú sāsahím ádhṛṣṭaṃ cid dadhṛ́ṣvaṇim ||

हे पुरूवसो (बहुधन) इंद्रा! सुत सोमरसाच्या परमानंदावर स्वतःला ओत. हे हरिवः (हरी-अश्वांचा स्वामी), आम्ही तुला ओळखतो—युद्धांत जयशाली, आणि जिथे कोणी तग धरू शकत नाही तिथेही धैर्याने धृष्ट.
