Sukta 7.86
पृच्छे तदेनो वरुण दिदृक्षूपो एमि चिकितुषो विपृच्छम् । समानमिन्मे कवयश्चिदाहुरयं ह तुभ्यं वरुणो हृणीते ॥
pṛ́cche tád éno váruṇa didṛ́kṣū́po émi cikítuṣo ví-pṛccham | samānám ín me kaváyaś cid āhur ayáṃ ha túbhyaṃ váruṇo hṛṇīte ||
त्या एनो (दोष/पाप) विषयी मी विचारतो, हे वरुणा—ते स्पष्ट पाहावे म्हणून; जाणणाऱ्याजवळ जाऊन मी चौकशी करतो. कवी-ऋषीही मला तेच सांगतात—‘हा वरुण निश्चयच तुझ्यावर रुष्ट आहे’; जणू ऋत (नियम/धर्मकर्म) माझ्या वर्तमान अवस्थेकडून दूर झाला आहे.
