Sukta 4.55
को वस्त्राता वसवः को वरूता द्यावाभूमी अदिते त्रासीथां नः । सहीयसो वरुण मित्र मर्तात्को वोऽध्वरे वरिवो धाति देवाः ॥
ko vas trātā vasavaḥ ko varūtā dyāvābhūmī adite trāsīthāṃ naḥ | sahīyaso varuṇa mitra martāt ko vo 'dhvare varivo dhāti devāḥ ||
हे वसूंनो! तुमचा रक्षक कोण, तुमचे खरे संरक्षण कोण? हे द्यावा-भूमी, हे अदिती, तुम्ही आम्हांस रक्ष करा. हे वरुण व मित्रा! उद्धट मर्त्यापासून—अध्वर (यज्ञ) मध्ये देवांपैकी कोण आमच्यासाठी विस्तृत ‘वरिवस्’ (मोकळे स्वातंत्र्य/सुरक्षित अवकाश) स्थापतो?
