Sukta 4.54
देवेभ्यो हि प्रथमं यज्ञियेभ्योऽमृतत्वं सुवसि भागमुत्तमम् । आदिद्दामानं सवितर्व्यूर्णुषेऽनूचीना जीविता मानुषेभ्यः ॥
devebhyo hi prathamaṃ yajñiyebhyo 'mṛtatvaṃ suvasi bhāgam uttamam | ādid dāmānaṃ savitar vy ūrṇuṣe 'nūcīnā jīvitā mānuṣebhyaḥ ||
यज्ञ्य देवांसाठी तू प्रथम अमृतत्वाचा उत्तम भाग प्रवर्तित करतोस; मग, हे सवितर, तू मोजून ठरविलेल्या विधानरूप ‘दामन्’ (dāman) उलगडतोस; आणि त्यांच्या अनुगमनात मनुष्यांसाठी जीवनधारा विस्तारतोस.
