अस्मे वर्षिष्ठा कृणुहि ज्येष्ठा नृम्णानि सत्रा सहुरे सहांसि । अस्मभ्यं वृत्रा सुहनानि रन्धि जहि वधर्वनुषो मर्त्यस्य ॥
asmé várṣiṣṭhā kṛṇuhi jyéṣṭhā nṛmṇā́ni satrā́ sahure sáhāṃsi | asmábhyaṃ vṛtrā́ su-hánāni randhi jahí vádhar vanúṣo mártyasya ||
आमच्यात तुझ्या अतिवर्षिणी, तुझ्या ज्येष्ठ शक्ती प्रस्थापित कर—सतत संग्रामात जिंकणारी वीर-शक्ती. हे वृत्रहन्, आमच्यासाठी शुभ-वधांची व्यवस्था कर; घाव घालू पाहणाऱ्या मर्त्याचे वध-शस्त्र ठेचून पाड.
