Sukta 4.17
अयं शृण्वे अध जयन्नुत घ्नन्नयमुत प्र कृणुते युधा गाः । यदा सत्यं कृणुते मन्युमिन्द्रो विश्वं दृळ्हं भयत एजदस्मात् ॥
ayáṃ śṛṇve ádha jáyann utá ghnann ayám utá prá kṛṇute yudhā́ gā́ḥ | yadā́ satyáṃ kṛṇuté manyúm índro víśvaṃ dṛḷháṃ bhayate éjad asmāt ||
हा (इंद्र) ऐकू येतो—मग तो जिंकतो आणि घाव घालतो; हा युद्धाने गाः (गायी/किरणे) पुढे काढून आणतो. जेव्हा इंद्र आपला मन्यु (क्रोध-तेज) सत्य-बल करतो, तेव्हा जे काही दृढ आहे तेही त्याच्या भयाने थरथरते.
