Sukta 3.17
यथायजो होत्रमग्ने पृथिव्या यथा दिवो जातवेदश्चिकित्वान् । एवानेन हविषा यक्षि देवान्मनुष्वद्यज्ञं प्र तिरेममद्य ॥
yáthā́yajo hotrám agne pṛthivyā́ yáthā́ divó jā́tavedas cikitvā́n | evā́néna havíṣā yakṣi devā́n manuṣvád yajñáṃ prá tirémám adyá ||
हे अग्ने, जसे पृथ्वीवर तू यथायज (यथाविधि) होतृ-कर्म केलेस, आणि हे जातवेदस्, जसे दिवातून तू चिकीत्वान् (सचेत ज्ञानाने) ते केलेस—तसेच आता या हविषा (आहुती) ने देवांचे यजन कर। मनुष्य-रीतीने आज हा यज्ञ पुढे ने; त्याच्या वर्तमान मर्यादेपलीकडे तो पार पाड.
