Sukta 2.1
त्वे अग्ने विश्वे अमृतासो अद्रुह आसा देवा हविरदन्त्याहुतम् । त्वया मर्तासः स्वदन्त आसुतिं त्वं गर्भो वीरुधां जज्ञिषे शुचिः ॥
tvé agne víśve amṛ́tāso adrúha āsā́ devā́ havír adanty ā́hutam | tváyā mártāsaḥ svadante āsutíṃ tváṃ gárbho vīrudhā́ṃ jajñiṣe śúciḥ ||
हे अग्ने! तुझ्यामध्ये सर्व अमृत (अमर) व अद्रुह—द्रोहरहित—देव आहुत केलेले हविर्भाग भक्षण करतात. तुझ्यामुळे मर्त्य जन सोमरसाची आसुती चाखतात; हे शुचि (पवित्रा)! तू वीरुधा (उगवणाऱ्या वनस्पती) यांचा गर्भ होऊन जन्मास येतोस.
