अग्निं विश्वा अभि पृक्षः सचन्ते समुद्रं न स्रवतः सप्त यह्वीः । न जामिभिर्वि चिकिते वयो नो विदा देवेषु प्रमतिं चिकित्वान् ॥
agníṃ víśvā abhí pṛ́kṣaḥ sacante samudráṃ ná sravátaḥ saptá yahvī́ḥ | ná jāmíbhir ví cikite váyo no vidā́ devéṣu prámatíṃ cikitvān ||
सर्व पोषण-शक्ती अग्नीभोवती दाटून त्याला चिकटतात, जसे सात महान प्रवाह समुद्राकडे धावतात. तो केवळ जामि-नात्यांच्या (परिचित बंधनांच्या) आधाराने आमचे प्राण-बल ओळखत नाही; जाणता पुरुष देवांमध्ये आमच्यासाठी मनाची योग्य दिशा (प्रमति) शोधून काढतो.
