Sukta 1.53
न्यू षु वाचं प्र महे भरामहे गिर इन्द्राय सदने विवस्वतः । नू चिद्धि रत्नं ससतामिवाविदन्न दुःष्टुतिर्द्रविणोदेषु शस्यते ॥
nyù̄ ṣú vā́caṃ prá mahé bharāmahe gíra índrāya sádane vivásvataḥ | nū́ ciddhí rátnaṃ sasatā́m ivā́vidan ná duḥ-stutír dráviṇo-deṣú śasyate ||
आता आम्ही महापुरुषासाठी नूतन वाणी पुढे आणतो—विवस्वत्च्या सदनात इंद्रासाठी या गिरः (स्तोत्र-गीते). कारण आजही रत्न (धन/वर) प्रयत्नशीलांना जसे मिळते तसेच सापडते; आणि द्रविणोदस्—समृद्धीचे दाते—यांच्यात दु:स्तुति (कुटिल निंदा) गात नाहीत.
