Sukta 1.40
उप क्षत्रं पृञ्चीत हन्ति राजभिर्भये चित्सुक्षितिं दधे । नास्य वर्ता न तरुता महाधने नार्भे अस्ति वज्रिणः ॥
úpa kṣatráṃ pṛñcīt hánti rājábhir bhayé cít su-kṣitíṃ dadhé | nā́syá vartā́ ná tarutā́ mahā-dhánē nā́rbhe asti vajríṇaḥ ||
तो आपले क्षत्र—अधिकार-बल—दृढ करतो; राजांनाही पाडतो; भयामध्येही सु-क्षिति—सुखद निवास—स्थापित करतो. वज्रिणासाठी न कोणी आवरणारा, न कोणी जिंकणारा—न महाधन (महासंग्राम) मध्ये, न लहानात; प्रतिकार भेदणारी ती शक्ति रोखता येत नाही.
