Then the entire Rakshasa army determined with a purpose roaring like clouds of the rainy season it looked splendid and crossed over the southern gate where Angada was stationed.
Dharma in warfare includes vigilance and rightful defense: Aṅgada’s stationing at the gate reflects duty-bound protection against aggression.
The Rākṣasa army exits the city through the southern gate, moving toward the Vānara forces; Aṅgada is positioned there to meet them.
Steadfastness and readiness in service (kartavya-niṣṭhā) are emphasized through Aṅgada’s guarding role.
