अद्यमद्बाणनिर्भग्नैर्मकरैर्मकरानिलयम् ।निरुद्धतोयंसौमित्रेप्लवभदिःपश्यसर्वतः ।।6.21.17।।

adya madbāṇanirbhagnair makaraiḥ makarānilayam | niruddhatoyaṃ saumitre plavabhṛdiḥ paśya sarvataḥ ||6.21.17||

सौमित्रा, पाहा—आज मकरांचे निवासस्थान असलेला हा समुद्र माझ्या बाणांनी मकर भंग पावल्याने जणू जलाने अडवला गेला आहे; सर्वत्र प्लवग उड्या मारत तरंगताना दिसतात।
