evam ukto bharadvājo vālmīkena mahātmanā |
prāyacchata munes tasya valkalaṃ niyato guroḥ ||1.2.7||
महात्मा वाल्मीकीने असे सांगितल्यावर, गुरुनिष्ठ व संयमी भरद्वाजाने त्या मुनीस वल्कल-वस्त्र अर्पण केले।
Asked thus by the noble-minded master Valmiki, Bharadwaja, ever obedient to his spiritual master, gave the sage the bark garment.
Guru-bhakti and disciplined service: the student responds promptly and respectfully to the teacher’s request, embodying dharma through obedience and readiness to serve.
Vālmīki asks, and Bharadvāja provides a bark garment—signaling Vālmīki’s ascetic readiness to move in the forest and observe life closely.
Bharadvāja’s vinaya (humility/obedience) and attentiveness to the guru’s needs.
