Jaimini (the purohita), addressing Subāhu

Concept: Dharma is mediated through qualified brāhmaṇa guidance; the purohita functions as the king’s conscience and ritual-intellectual compass.

Secondary Rasa: vira

Type: city

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"In a pillared royal hall, Subāhu is summoned before the family priest Jaimini, who sits on a low seat with palm-leaf manuscripts and a water-pot. FAQs

The speaker is the brāhmaṇa Jaimini, described as the purohita (family/royal priest), and he addresses Subāhu after summoning him.

Purodhā (purohita) refers to a household or royal priest who advises on dharma, performs rites, and guides decisions with scriptural authority.

It sets up a formal counsel scene: an authority figure (the priest) calls the concerned person (Subāhu) to deliver guidance or instruction, signaling that the next verses likely contain dharmic advice or a decisive message.
