Puruṣottama-kṣetra Māhātmya: Śveta-Mādhava & Matsya-Mādhava; Mārkaṇḍeya-tīrtha Mārjana and Bath Liturgy
नारायणपरो वायुर्नारायणपरं मनः । अहंकारश्च बुद्धिश्च उभे नारायणात्मके ॥ ४१ ॥
nārāyaṇaparo vāyurnārāyaṇaparaṃ manaḥ | ahaṃkāraśca buddhiśca ubhe nārāyaṇātmake || 41 ||
वायू (प्राण) नारायणपर आहे, मनही नारायणपर आहे। अहंकार व बुद्धी—दोन्ही नारायणस्वरूप आहेत।
Narada (teaching in the Narada Purana dialogue tradition, commonly framed around Narada and the Sanatkumara brothers)
Vrata: none
Rasa: {"primary_rasa":"shanta","secondary_rasa":"bhakti","emotional_journey":"Moves inward from cosmic forces to inner faculties, culminating in identity-language (‘of Nārāyaṇa’s very nature’)."}
It teaches a Narayana-centered vision where inner faculties—prāṇa, mind, ego, and intellect—are not separate from the Divine, encouraging devotion and self-knowledge rooted in seeing Narayana as the inner essence.
Bhakti here is not only worship outwardly but aligning the mind and life-breath toward Narayana, and recognizing even ego and intellect as to be offered back to Him as His own power.
No specific Vedanga technique is taught in this verse; the practical takeaway is yogic and contemplative—disciplining manas and buddhi (inner instruments) so they remain Narayana-oriented during japa, vrata, and pūjā.
