avimukte kṛtaṃ yattu tadevākṣayatāṃ vrajet | avimuktagataḥ kaścinnarakaṃ naiti kilbiṣī || 2 ||
अविमुक्तात जे काही केले जाते ते अक्षय पुण्य होते; अविमुक्तास गेलेला कोणीही—पापी असला तरी—नरकात जात नाही।
Suta (narrating Narada Purana discourse)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It declares Avimukta as a supremely sanctifying kṣetra where actions yield akṣaya-puṇya (imperishable merit) and where even a sinful person who reaches it is protected from falling into naraka.
By glorifying a sacred Viśveśvara/Kāśī-associated kṣetra (Avimukta), it supports bhakti through tīrtha-sevā—approaching the holy place with faith, performing worship and dharma there, and relying on the Lord’s grace to overcome sin.
The verse primarily teaches tīrtha-māhātmya and the doctrine of akṣaya-puṇya rather than a specific Vedāṅga; practically, it guides pilgrimage-based ritual practice (yātrā, dāna, japa, pūjā) performed in a kṣetra for enduring spiritual results.
