vṛṃdārakaḥ pītasudhāraso yathā saṃspṛśya saṃspṛśya punarnavo'sau | pibaṃstu pānaṃ sumanoharaṃ hi śrṛṇvaṃstu gītaṃ supadaprayuktam || 27 ||
Narada (teaching in a didactic passage; framed within the Narada–Sanatkumara dialogue tradition)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It teaches that repeated contact with what is pure and elevating—especially uplifting sound and experience—renews the inner state again and again, like nectar refreshing the gods.
By highlighting listening (śravaṇa) to well-formed sacred songs/recitations, it points to bhakti as a practice of repeated devotional absorption that continually refreshes faith, joy, and steadiness.
The phrase “su-pada-prayuktam” implies attention to correct and beautiful verbal composition—supporting Vyākaraṇa (grammar) and Chandas (meter) as tools that make recitation and devotional singing effective and pleasing.
