The Liberation of the Lizard
Godhā-vimukti
तदहः क्षयरोगोऽभूत्पतिः क्षीणो दिने दिने । गुह्ये तु क्रिमयो जाताः क्षतदुष्टव्रणोद्भवाः ॥ ३० ॥
tadahaḥ kṣayarogo'bhūtpatiḥ kṣīṇo dine dine | guhye tu krimayo jātāḥ kṣataduṣṭavraṇodbhavāḥ || 30 ||
त्या दिवसापासून पतीला क्षयरोग झाला आणि तो दिवसेंदिवस अधिक क्षीण होत गेला। गुप्तांगात जखमी व दूषित व्रणातून कृमी उत्पन्न झाले॥३०॥
Narada (narrating within the Uttara-Bhaga mahatmya account)
Vrata: none
Rasa: {"primary_rasa":"karuna (compassion)","secondary_rasa":"bhayanaka (fear)","emotional_journey":"A sudden onset of grievous illness moves from shock to escalating horror through the graphic detail of decay and infestation."}
It illustrates the Purana’s karmic-moral framing: harmful, adharmic causes manifest as progressive suffering, here depicted through wasting disease and a degrading bodily affliction, urging repentance and corrective dharma.
Though this line itself is narrative and not a bhakti injunction, it functions as a warning that motivates refuge in dharma and (in the broader Uttara-Bhaga tirtha context) seeking purification through sacred places, vows, and devotion to Narayana.
No specific Vedanga (like Vyakarana, Jyotisha, or Kalpa-ritual procedure) is taught in this verse; it primarily conveys a dharma-ethics narrative about karmic consequence rather than technical instruction.
