Mohinī-Saṃmohana
The Enchantment of Mohinī
manoratho nāma meruryatra tvaṃ ramase vibho | bhartṛsthānaṃ parityajya svapiturvāpi varjitam || 18 ||

Vrata: none
Rasa: {"primary_rasa":"shanta","secondary_rasa":"bhakti","emotional_journey":"Opens with a lofty cosmic image (a ‘Meru’ named Manoratha where the Lord delights), then pivots to a firm ethical boundary: abandoning husband’s place (and even father) is censured."}
It links a sacred geography (Meru called Manoratha where the Lord is said to delight) with dharma: devotion and pilgrimage are not meant to become excuses for violating basic moral duties and social righteousness.
It implies that true bhakti aligns with dharma—reverence for the Lord should be accompanied by disciplined conduct, not by abandoning rightful responsibilities under the pretext of spiritual pursuit.
No specific Vedanga (like Vyakarana or Jyotisha) is taught directly; the practical takeaway is dharma-niti for household life—ethical boundaries that support ritual life and pilgrimage discipline.
