iti śrībṛhannāradīyapurāṇe pūrvabhāge prathamapāde mārkaṇḍeyavarṇanaṃ nāma pañcamo'dhyāyaḥ || 5 ||

Translation

अशा प्रकारे श्रीबृहन्नारदीयपुराणाच्या पूर्वभागातील प्रथम पादात ‘मार्कण्डेय-वर्णन’ नावाचा पाचवा अध्याय समाप्त झाला ॥५॥
