It frames cosmic time (kalpa and yuga) as knowable through ordered, sacred reckoning—showing that the universe runs by dharmic law (ṛta) and that understanding time supports right living and worship aligned to cosmic rhythm.
By establishing the vast scale of yugas and kalpas, it humbles the individual and encourages steady devotion across time; bhakti is practiced with awareness that all cycles unfold under the Lord’s cosmic order, beyond short human calculations.
Vedāṅga Jyotiṣa (astronomical/astrological time-reckoning): using the Sun–Moon relationship (solar-lunar conjunction and calendrical computation) to define larger units like yuga and kalpa, foundational for determining ritual calendars and sacred timings.
