सूत उवाच । एतन्निशम्य सनकोदितमप्रमेयं पुण्यं हरेर्दिनभवं निखिलोत्तमं च । पापौघशांतिकरणं व्रतसारमेवं ब्रह्मात्मजः पुनरभाषत हर्षयुक्तः ॥ १ ॥

sūta uvāca | etanniśamya sanakoditamaprameyaṃ puṇyaṃ harerdinabhavaṃ nikhilottamaṃ ca | pāpaughaśāṃtikaraṇaṃ vratasāramevaṃ brahmātmajaḥ punarabhāṣata harṣayuktaḥ || 1 ||

सूत म्हणाले—सनकांनी सांगितलेले, हरिच्या पवित्र व्रत-दिवसासंबंधी अपार व परम पुण्य, सर्वोत्कृष्ट, पापसमूह शांत करणारे आणि व्रतांचा सार—हे ऐकून ब्रह्मपुत्र आनंदयुक्त होऊन पुन्हा बोलला।
