Bhāgīratha’s Bringing of the Gaṅgā
अनादिनिधनो देवः सर्वकामफलप्रदः । त्वया संपूजितो राजन्सद्यः श्रेयो विधास्यति ॥ ७३ ॥
anādinidhano devaḥ sarvakāmaphalapradaḥ | tvayā saṃpūjito rājansadyaḥ śreyo vidhāsyati || 73 ||
तो देव अनादी-अनंत असून सर्व कामनांचे फल देणारा आहे. हे राजन्! तू विधिपूर्वक पूजिल्यास तो तत्क्षणी परम कल्याण करील।
Sanatkumara (in dialogue to Narada, addressing a king within the narration)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It declares Vishnu as eternal (without beginning or end) and teaches that proper worship (saṃpūjā) quickly leads to śreyas—one’s highest spiritual welfare, not merely temporary gains.
Bhakti is shown as effective through reverent, complete worship of the Lord; the verse emphasizes that sincere pūjā to Vishnu becomes a direct cause for both desired fruits and the higher good (śreyas).
It points to correct ritual performance—doing pūjā “properly” (saṃpūjitaḥ), aligning with Kalpa (ritual procedure) and basic mantra/usage discipline, even though no specific Vedanga is named.
