It emphasizes śauca (purity) as a foundational discipline for dharma—maintaining ritual cleanliness supports eligibility for Vedic rites, japa, and worship by removing states of aśauca (impurity).
While not directly teaching bhakti, it sets the practical devotional environment: purity of body and conduct is presented as supportive to pūjā, mantra-japa, and disciplined service to the Divine.
It reflects Kalpa/Smārta practice (ritual procedure and conduct): identifying causes of impurity is part of applying śāstra-based rules for daily rites and purification.
