चाक्षुषेत्याह तं ब्रह्मा तपसो विनिवर्तयन् ।
पूर्वनाम्ना बभूवाथ प्रख्यातश्चाक्षुषो मनुः ॥
cākṣuṣetyāha taṃ brahmā tapaso vinivartayan / pūrvanāmnā babhūvātha prakhyātaś cākṣuṣo manuḥ
त्याला तपातून परत वळवित असताना ब्रह्माने त्याला “चाक्षुष” असे संबोधले; आणि पुढे त्याच पूर्व नावाने तो “चाक्षुष मनु” म्हणून प्रसिद्ध झाला।
