Adhyaya 76 — The Sixth Manvantara: Cakshusha Manu, the Child-Snatcher, and the Problem of Kinship

Sanskrit

जातिस्मरः स जातो वै मातुरुत्सङ्गमास्थितः ।

जहास तं तदा माता संक्रुद्धा वाक्यमब्रवीत् ॥

Transliteration

jātismaraḥ sa jāto vai mātur utsaṅgam āsthitaḥ / jahāsa taṃ tadā mātā saṃkruddhā vākyam abravīt //

Translation

तो बालक खरोखरच जातिस्मर होता. आईच्या मांडीवर बसून तो हसला; तेव्हा आई रागावून त्याला म्हणाली.
