Adhyaya 75 — The Fall and Restoration of Revatī Nakṣatra and the Birth of Raivata Manu
mārkaṇḍeya uvāca tatas tapaḥ prabhāveṇa revatyṛkṣaṃ mahāmuniḥ | yathāpūrvaṃ tathā cakre somayogī dvijottama ||
The Purāṇa legitimizes tapas as a sanctioned spiritual technology when wielded by a ‘dvijottama’ for dharmic ends, rather than for disruption or ego.
Sthāna (ordering of the cosmos) is explicitly invoked through rearranging an asterism; it remains embedded in Vaṃśānucarita as part of a lineage narrative.
‘Somayoga’ hints at mastery over the lunar principle—mind, time, and cyclicality—suggesting inner control that reflects outwardly as control over celestial cycles.
