तामसीं भजमानायां योनिं मातर्यजायत ।
तमसा चावृते लोके तामसोऽयं भविष्यति ॥
tāmasīṃ bhajamānāyāṃ yoniṃ mātary ajāyata / tamasā cāvṛte loke tāmaso 'yaṃ bhaviṣyati
तो तामसी योनीत प्रविष्ट झालेल्या मातेकडून जन्मला; आणि जग तमाने आच्छादित असल्यामुळे तो ‘तामस’ म्हणून ओळखला जाईल।
