Adhyaya 49 — Primordial Human Creation, the Rise of Desire, and the Origins of Settlements, Measures, and Agriculture

Sanskrit

कुरुविन्दा मर्कटकास्तथा वेणुयवाश्च ये ।

ग्राम्यारण्याः स्मृता ह्येता ओषध्यश्च चतुर्दश ॥

Transliteration

kuruvindā markaṭakās tathā veṇuyavāś ca ye | grāmyāraṇyāḥ smṛtā hy etā oṣadhyaś ca caturdaśa ||

Translation

कुरुविंद, मार्कटक तसेच वेणु-यव म्हणून ओळखल्या जाणाऱ्या वनस्पतीही आहेत. या कृषिजन्य व वन्य अशा औषधी चौदा प्रकारच्या स्मरणात आहेत.
