अहिंसयित्वा ब्रह्महत्याविधानम् / Brahmahatyā incurred without physical violence
मार्कण्डेय उवाच अश्वमेधसहस्रं च सत्यं च तुलया धृतम् । नाभिजानामि यद्यस्य सत्यस्यार्धमवाप्तरुयात्
Mārkaṇḍeya uvāca— aśvamedha-sahasraṃ ca satyaṃ ca tulayā dhṛtam | nābhijānāmi yad yasya satyasyārdham avāptum arhati ||
मार्कण्डेय म्हणाले—जर तराजूच्या एका पारड्यात हजार अश्वमेधयज्ञ आणि दुसऱ्या पारड्यात सत्य ठेवून तोलले, तरीही ते सर्व यज्ञ सत्याच्या अर्ध्याइतकेही ठरतील की नाही, हे मी सांगू शकत नाही. सत्याचे मोल अमाप आहे.
