कीर्तयन् प्रयत: सर्वान् सर्वपापै: प्रमुच्यते । इसी प्रकार नन्दीश्वर
kīrtayan prayataḥ sarvān sarvapāpaiḥ pramucyate |
भीष्म म्हणाले—“जो मनुष्य संयमाने व शुद्ध भावाने या सर्वांची नावे कीर्तन करतो, तो सर्व पापांतून मुक्त होतो. नंदीश्वर, महाकाय, ग्रामणी, वृषभध्वज; सर्वलोकांचे स्वामी गणेश—विनायक—तसे सौम्यगण, रुद्रगण, योगगण, भूतगण; नक्षत्रे, नद्या, आकाश; पक्षिराज गरुड; तपाने सिद्ध झालेले महात्मे; स्थावर-जंगम; हिमालय व सर्व पर्वत; चारही समुद्र; शंकरास तुल्य पराक्रम असलेले त्यांचे अनुचरगण; आणि विष्णु, जिष्णु, स्कंद व अंबिका—या सर्वांची नावे शुद्ध अंतःकरणाने घेतल्यास सर्व पापांचा नाश होतो।”
