समन्तपञ्चक-आख्यानम् तथा अक्षौहिणी-प्रमाणनिर्णयः

त॑ दुष्टभावं॑ विज्ञाय व्यासस्यागमन द्रुतम् । निर्याणप्रतिषेधश्व सुरभ्याख्यानमेव च,दुर्योधनके इस दूषित भावको जानकर महर्षि व्यास झटपट वहाँ आ पहुँचे और उन्होंने दुर्योधनकी यात्राका निषेध कर दिया। इसी प्रसंगमें सुरभिका आख्यान भी है
taṁ duṣṭabhāvaṁ vijñāya vyāsasyāgamanaṁ drutam | niryāṇa-pratiṣedhaś ca surabhy-ākhyānam eva ca ||
दुर्योधनाचा हा दूषित भाव जाणून महर्षी व्यास त्वरेने तेथे आले. त्यांनी दुर्योधनास प्रवासास निघण्यास मनाई केली; आणि याच प्रसंगात सुरभीचे आख्यानही सांगितले आहे.
