Sukta 7
मधुमन्मूलं मधुमदग्रमासाम्मधुमन्मध्यं वीरुधां बभूव । मधुमत् पर्णं मधुमत् पुष्पमासां मधोः संभक्ता अमृतस्य भक्षो घृतमन्नं दुह्रतां गोपुरोगवम्
mádhumat mū́laṃ mádhumad ágram āsām mádhumad mádhyaṃ vīrudhā́ṃ babhūva | mádhumat párṇaṃ mádhumat púṣpam āsāṃ mádhoḥ sámbhaktā amṛ́tasya bhákṣo ghṛtám ánnaṃ duhratāṃ gopúro gávam
Honeyed their root, honeyed their summit; honeyed the midmost of the plants hath grown. Honeyed their leaf, honeyed their blossom; sharers in sweetness, food of immortality—let them yield ghee and nourishment, cow-leading, for the cattle-wealth.
त्यांचे मूळ मधुमय, त्यांचा शिखरभाग मधुमय; वीरुधांचा मध्यभागही मधुमय झाला आहे. त्यांचे पान मधुमय, त्यांचे फूल मधुमय; मधुचे सहभागी, अमृताचे भक्ष्य—त्या घृत व अन्न (पोषण) दुधून देऊ देत; गायींना पुढे नेणाऱ्या/गौ-पुरोगामी होऊन, गो-समृद्धीसाठी.
