Sukta 4
यो अस्याः कर्णावास्कुनोत्या स देवेषु वृश्चते । लक्ष्म कुर्व इति मन्यते कनीयः कृणुते स्वम्
yó asyā́ḥ kárṇāv āskunóty ā́ sá devéṣu vṛścáte | lákṣma kurvá íti mányate kanī́yaḥ kṛṇute svám
Whoso tugs at her two ears—he is cut off among the Gods. ‘I make me Fortune,’ so he imagines; but he makes his own estate the lesser.
जो तिचे दोन्ही कान ओढतो—तो देवांमध्येच छिन्न/कापला जातो. ‘मी माझ्यासाठी लक्ष्मी करीत आहे’ असे तो मानतो; पण तो आपलीच संपत्ती कमी करून घेतो.
