Sukta 4
देवा वशामयाचन् मुखं कृत्वा ब्राह्मणम्। तेषां सर्वेषामददद्धेडं न्येऽति मानुषः
devā́ vaśā́m ayācan múkhaṃ kr̥tvā́ brā́hmaṇam | téṣāṃ sárveṣām ádadad héḍaṃ nyèti mā́nuṣaḥ ||
The Gods a Vashā-cow besought, having made the Brahmin their mouth. Of all those Gods, the mortal who gave not—on him the wrath, the offense, comes down and settles.
देवांनी ब्राह्मणाला आपले मुख करून वशा-गायीची याचना केली. त्या सर्व देवांपैकी जो मर्त्य दान देत नाही, त्याच्यावर क्रोध—अपराध (हेड) उतरून येऊन स्थिर होतो.
