Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"Mantra","entry_title":"Trailokya-mohana mantra (caturvarga-siddhi) with nyāsa","lookup_keywords":["trailokya-mohana","puruṣottama mantra","ākarṣaṇa sarva-jana-manāṃsi","nyāsa saṅgākṣiṇī","hūṃ phaṭ astrāya"],"quick_summary":"A multi-part mohana mantra with heart/weapon/eye segments is given, along with a note to perform nyāsa using Saṅgākṣiṇī etc. as per the root-mantra procedure."}
Concept: Mantra as operative speech: bīja + nāma + imperative verbs + aṅga-nyāsa (hṛdaya/astrā/netra) to ‘seal’ intention and effect.
Application: For traditions that transmit such prayogas, the verse indicates the mantra’s segmentation and the requirement of nyāsa aligned to the mūla-mantra.
Khanda Section: Mantra-Tantra and Puja-vidhi (Narasimha-mantra corpus; Mohana/Ākarṣaṇa rites)
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: raudra
Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A sādhaka performs nyāsa on heart, eyes, and weapon-mudrā while reciting the Trailokya-mohana mantra; subtle depiction of minds being ‘drawn’ toward the practitioner as symbolic threads of light.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural: seated sādhaka before a small Vishnu-form (Puruṣottama) with aura; clear hand-gestures for hṛdaya/astrā/netra nyāsa; stylized three-worlds motif (heaven, earth, nether) being ‘maddened’ by radiance.","tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore: Puruṣottama icon with gold halo; mantra segments written in ornamental bands; the sādhaka shown touching heart and eyes, with a radiant ‘astrā’ emblem; rich jewel tones.","mysore_prompt":"Mysore: diagrammatic instructional painting—three panels for hṛdaya/astrā/netra nyāsa, each labeled; central deity-form; clean composition suited to ritual pedagogy.","mughal_miniature_prompt":"Mughal miniature: courtly interior where a mystic recites; delicate lines show attraction as flowing ribbons toward figures; deity-vision faintly appearing above, with calligraphy cartouches for mantra parts."}

Sandhi Resolution Notes:
Related Themes: Agni Purana 305 (Narasimha-mantra preliminaries and rakṣā); Agni Purana 306 (procedural homa/japa/abhiṣeka in vv. 2-3)
It teaches a Trailokya-mohana (three-world enchanting) mantra along with implicit aṅga/nyāsa applications—hṛdaya (heart), netra (eye), and astra (weapon)—used for attraction and subjugation-oriented ritual results.
Beyond myth and doctrine, it preserves applied mantra-vidyā: specific bījas/exclamations (hūṃ, phaṭ), nyāsa mapping to bodily points, and goal-framing via caturvarga-siddhi—showing the Purāṇa’s coverage of practical ritual technologies alongside theology.
The text frames the mantra as caturvarga-sādhana (aimed at dharma–artha–kāma–mokṣa), but its mohana/vaśīkaraṇa language implies power-oriented use; traditionally, such rites are treated as requiring strict discipline, purity, and right intention to avoid adverse karmic consequences.
