FAQs

It teaches a practical Ayurvedic prescription: a decoction-based formulation (kvātha) taken orally with castor oil to alleviate vāta-śoṇita, and it states pippalī as a specific remedy for splenic disorders (plīha-roga).

Beyond mythology and ritual, the Agni Purana catalogs applied sciences like Ayurveda—naming herbs (vāsā, pippalī), vehicles (eraṇḍa taila), dosage form (kvātha), and targeted conditions (vāta-śoṇita, plīha-roga), reflecting its wide, compendious scope.

By preserving health through dharmic, text-sanctioned medicine, one sustains the body as an instrument for duty (dharma), worship, and disciplined living—thus supporting purity of conduct and continuity of righteous practice.
