Related Themes: Agni Purana 279 (doṣa-śamana and cikitsā measures); Agni Purana 280 (rasa-vīrya-vipāka framework supporting dietetics)
Ayurvedic doṣa-management: Vāta is pacified by warm, unctuous diet plus oleation therapies (abhyaṅga, tailapāna), while Pitta is pacified by cooling, sweet, and soothing measures (ghee, milk, sugar, and cooling influences like moonlight).
It demonstrates the Purana’s inclusion of practical medical science (Ayurveda)—specific dietetics and therapies for doṣa balance—alongside its religious and mythic material, showing its wide-ranging, handbook-like scope.
By prescribing sāttvika, balancing regimens that reduce bodily distress and agitation, the verse supports health as a foundation for dharma and steady sādhana—helping one maintain purity, self-control, and fitness for worship and disciplined conduct.
