सैव नन्दा भवेद्देवी देवकार्यचिकीर्षया ॥ महिषाख्यासुरवधं कुर्वती ब्रह्मणेरिता

saiva nandā bhaved devī devakāryacikīrṣayā || mahiṣākhyāsuravadhaṃ kurvatī brahmaṇeritā

അதே ശക്തി ദേവകാര്യങ്ങൾ നിർവഹിക്കുവാൻ ഉദ്ദേശിച്ച് ദേവി നന്ദയായി; ബ്രഹ്മാവിന്റെ പ്രേരണയാൽ മഹിഷ എന്ന അസുരനെ വധിച്ചു।
