एते द्वादश दैत्येन्द्रा आदित्यान् युधि दुद्रुवुः । स्वकं सैन्यमुपादाय तद्वदन्येऽपि दानवाः । रुद्रान् दुद्रुवुरव्यग्रा यथासंख्येन कोपिताः ॥
ete dvādaśa daityendrā ādityān yudhi dudruvuḥ | svakaṃ sainyam upādāya tadvad anye 'pi dānavāḥ | rudrān dudruvur avyagrā yathāsaṃkhyena kopitāḥ ||
ആ പന്ത്രണ്ടു ദൈത്യേന്ദ്രന്മാർ യുദ്ധത്തിൽ ആദിത്യന്മാരിലേക്കു പാഞ്ഞുകയറി. തങ്ങളുടെ സൈന്യവുമായി മറ്റു ദാനവരും മടിയില്ലാതെ, ക്രോധത്തോടെ, ക്രമാനുസരിച്ച് രുദ്രന്മാരിലേക്കു പാഞ്ഞു.
