दिव्यं वर्षसहस्रं तु दिव्यैरस्त्रैर्महाबलम् । युद्ध्वा कालात्यये देव्याः हतो वैत्रासुरो रणे । ततः किलकिलाशब्दो देवसैन्येऽभवन्महान् ॥ २८.२५ ॥

divyaṁ varṣasahasraṁ tu divyair astrair mahābalam | yuddhvā kālātyaye devyāḥ hato vaitrāsuro raṇe | tataḥ kilakilāśabdo devasainye 'bhavan mahān || 28.25 ||

ആയിരം ദിവ്യവർഷങ്ങൾ വരെ ആ മഹാബലൻ ദിവ്യായുധങ്ങളാൽ യുദ്ധം ചെയ്തു. തുടർന്ന് നിശ്ചിതകാലം കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ ദേവി യുദ്ധത്തിൽ വൈത്രാസുരനെ വധിച്ചു; അതിനുശേഷം ദേവസൈന്യത്തിൽ മഹത്തായ ഹർഷഘോഷം ഉയർന്നു।
