आद्यो नारायणो देवस्तस्माद् ब्रह्मा ततोऽभवत् । अतः स्वयम्भुवश्चान्ये मरीच्याद्यार्कसम्भवाः ॥ २५.६ ॥

ādyo nārāyaṇo devastasmād brahmā tato 'bhavat | ataḥ svayambhuvaś cānye marīcyādyārkasaṃbhavāḥ || 25.6 ||

ആദിദേവൻ നാരായണൻ; അവനിൽ നിന്നാണ് ബ്രഹ്മാവ് ഉദ്ഭവിച്ചത്. തുടർന്ന് സ്വയംഭുവ മനുവും, മറിയചി മുതലായ മറ്റു പലരും—അർക്ക (സൂര്യൻ) നിന്നു ജനിച്ചവർ—ഉദ്ഭവിച്ചു।
