नारद उवाच ॥ यद्येवं स्वकृतं कर्म समन्वेति शुभाशुभम् ॥ शुभस्येह भवेर्दवृद्धिरशुभस्य क्षयोऽपि वा ॥

nārada uvāca || yadyevaṃ svakṛtaṃ karma samanveti śubhāśubham || śubhasyeha bhaved avṛddhir aśubhasya kṣayo ’pi vā ||

നാരദൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഇങ്ങനെ സ്വകൃതകർമം ശുഭാശുഭഫലങ്ങളോടൊപ്പം അനുഗമിക്കുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ, ഈ ജന്മത്തിൽ ശുഭത്തിന്റെ വർദ്ധനവില്ലായ്മ—അഥവാ അശുഭത്തിന്റെ ക്ഷയവും—എങ്ങനെ സംഭവിക്കും?
