The Glory of Lunar Days: The Pratipadā Observance and the Merit of Hearing Agni’s Origin

त्वत्पदात् प्रतिपदं चान्या संभविश्यन्ति देवताः । अतस्ते प्रतिपन्नामा तिथिरेषा भविष्यति ॥ १९.४ ॥

tvatpadāt pratipadaṁ cānyā saṁbhaviṣyanti devatāḥ | ataste pratipannāmā tithireṣā bhaviṣyati || 19.4 ||

നിന്റെ പാദമുദ്രയിൽ നിന്ന് മറ്റു ദേവതകൾ പ്രതിപദമായി (പടിപടിയായി) ഉദ്ഭവിക്കും. അതിനാൽ ഈ തിഥി ‘പ്രതിപദാ’ എന്ന നാമത്തിൽ അറിയപ്പെടും.
