vivarṇaṃ vadanā dīnā bhagnālaṅkāravāsasaḥ || hīnāṅgā luñcitaśiraḥ keśapakṣmanakhādayaḥ ||

Translation

അവരുടെ മുഖങ്ങൾ വർണ്ണഹീനമായിരുന്നു; അവർ ദീനാവസ്ഥയിൽ; ആഭരണങ്ങളും വസ്ത്രങ്ങളും തകർന്നും അശ്രദ്ധമായും ആയിരുന്നു. അവയവങ്ങൾ ക്ഷീണിച്ചു, തലകൾ പിഴുതെടുത്തതുപോലെ—മുടി, കൺമുടികൾ, നഖങ്ങൾ മുതലായവയും അശാന്തമായി മാറിയിരുന്നു.
