शुकं सम्मुखयामासुः पप्रच्छुर्द्धर्मसंहिताम् ।। अहं तु वामदेवस्य शिष्यो नाम्ना शुकोदरः

അവർ ശുകനെ മുന്നിൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്ന് ധർമ്മസംഹിതയെക്കുറിച്ച് ചോദിച്ചു. (അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു) “ഞാൻ വാമദേവന്റെ ശിഷ്യൻ; എന്റെ പേര് ശുകോദരൻ.”
