दक्षिणस्यां समारभ्य उत्तरस्यां समापयेत् ॥ यज्ञोपवीतस्य विधिरेष एव प्रकीर्तितः ॥
dakṣiṇasyāṃ samārabhya uttarasyāṃ samāpayet || yajñopavītasya vidhir eṣa eva prakīrtitaḥ ||
വലത് വശത്ത് നിന്ന് ആരംഭിച്ച് ഇടത് വശത്ത് അവസാനിപ്പിക്കണം—ഇതുതന്നെയാണ് യജ്ഞോപവീതം (പൂണൂൽ) ധരിക്കുന്ന വിധിയായി പ്രസ്താവിച്ചത്।
